Happy New Year to all of our family and friends!

Our holidays were so wonderful this year with Callia & Maia in our lives. We are so enjoying the many new "tricks" they come up with. Although their personalities are so different, they are both incredibly sweet, loving and full of wonder. I am excited to teach them new songs and read them stories while Jason can't wait to teach them algebra and electromagnetism.

Daddy & Maia

Maia is rolling from belly to back and back to belly but often prefers not to. Instead she likes to squeal and screech until we give in and help her back onto her back. She loves any song that has a motion with it like, "The Noble Duke of York" or "Open Shut Them". She really likes the anticipation of being tickled and has this great belly laugh! We are practicing sitting up now with a lot of assistance. Maia is now 14 lbs 10 oz and liking all the new foods we are trying and eating them with gusto. It was recommended that we introduce water in a sippy cup now that they are eating solids and we are using these "Take and Toss Cups' that are awesome! Somehow, with its simple design, (it does not have a valve in it to prevent spills) this cup will help the girls learn to drink instead of suck like they do from a bottle yet it doesn't spill! Maia loves drinking water from this and can almost hold it herself.

Callia is working on rolling and has done it a few times from belly to back. She is very good at grasping and holding objects and getting them to her mouth. Callia is so sweet-natured and a very patient baby. Often, Callia has to wait in the middle of her bottle feeding for me to burp Maia because of Maia's reflux issues, and she just waits very quietly. She has the cutest little giggle and just smiles from ear to ear at the mention of Daddy's name. Callia is 15 lbs 4 oz and likes most of the foods we've tried - although she makes this funny face when trying something for the first time.

Both girls love to read books and sing songs. They recognize their own names, the words "Sister", "Kitty" (looking for one of our cats) and "Mommy" and "Daddy". We just started another class at Isis Maternity called "Social Butterflies" which we LOVE!!! It is wonderful to get out of the house and be in a setting that is fun for them while they learn routine, repetition and social skills. Maia was already holding hands with Kiernan who was next to her and Callia was smiling at Ben who was sitting next to her. Look out Daddy, I think we are in trouble!
